Artisan by Santa Barbara Catering is a full-service, off-premise catering company in Tempe, AZ.

Our company creates events in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, Ahwatukee, Paradise Valley, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, and more. Candidates must be able to drive themselves to each event. Examples of those who join our team for a flexible second or part-time job include stay-at-home parents, teachers, nurses, sales personnel, models, customer service and marketing professionals. Serving experience in fine dining, fast-paced restaurants, or event experience will qualify you to work with our professional team members.

We offer flexible scheduling and can meet the needs for a second job in the industry. We are looking to fill full-time and part-time positions.

Potential catering and kitchen candidates must be able to work at least two shifts per month as a minimum for part-time employment. Candidates can expect 2-20 shifts per month available.

Artisan by Santa Barbara Catering located in Tempe, AZ is hiring for the following kitchen positions; Prep Cooks, Pastry Cooks & Dishwashers to join their team! Applicants must have experience in high volume production, management, and an understanding of off premise catering.

Primary Objectives

Under the Guidance of the Executive Chef, is responsible for providing the highest quality of foodservice, while always adhering to the Company recipes and instructions, to attain client satisfaction.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain compliance of all Company rules and regulations, especially food safety.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Santa Barbara Catering brand of creating a rewarding experience for guests through innovative cuisine, exceptional service and creative presentation.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Attendance is an essential function of the job.
    2. Continually check on the quality of food prepared and constantly checks for taste, temperature and visual appeal.
    3. Maintain a work space that is consistently clean and orderly.
    4. Follow all rules of safety and sanitation.
    5. Follow and adhere to compliance of existing and new Maricopa County Health Department regulations in assigned area.
    6. Maintain impeccable personal and operational hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in the kitchen.
    7. Represent the company to clients in a positive manner at all times.
    8. Offer help whenever possible and consistently demonstrate a team player mentality.
    9. Personal growth within the Company is expected along with assisting others in their growth.
    10. Other physical activity includes, but is not limited to, standing for long periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Lift, pull, carry and push up to 50 pounds.

– Perform setup, service, and breakdown duties according to the direction of the Banquet Captain
– Provide attentive, first class service for all guests
– Maintain an upbeat and friendly disposition at events
– Experience /Ability to carry ten entrees on an oval tray (Can be taught)

– Hotel, Resort, Set-Up Crew, Fine Dining Restaurant, Full-Service catering experience REQUIRED
– 2+ years of banquet service work experience
– Internet accessibility and a working telephone number

– Direct staff at events to oversee all Front-of-house and Back-of-house organization
– Coordinate setup and break down of the entire event
– Work with Event Planner to ensure the event is executed properly according to the BEO
– Act as on-site liaison between client and vendors
– Responsible for safe handling of equipment and vehicles
– Work with the culinary staff to have a clear understanding of food ingredients, presentation, relevant allergies and safe handling procedures
– Review event BEO prior to the day of the event to ensure complete understanding of event requirements

General Job Requirements:
– Hotel, Resort, or Full-Service catering experience
– 2+ years of banquet service work experience
– Internet accessibility and a working telephone number
– High level of guest service skills
– Professional manner and appearance
– Reliable transportation and clean 39 Department of Motor Vehicles record
– Strong work ethic
– Management and leadership experience in the food and beverage industry
– Effective communication skills
– Organizational skills and ability to multitask
– Physically able to lift 40 lbs.
– ANSI food certification (ONLINE costs $12.00)

REQUIRED:
– Current AZ Department of Liquor License and Control approved alcohol training certificate

– Efficiently and consistently produce quality beverage products
– To know and practice all alcoholic beverage service policies and regulations
– Setup and breakdown bar in a timely, organized and efficient manner
– Maintain an upbeat and friendly disposition at events
– 2 + years of BNQT bartender experience required
– Work as a member of a catering team. (Job is not a nightclub atmosphere bar.)
– (2) Saturdays a month mandatory availability
– Must Provide a copy Certificate for bar training, license, or a TIPs Certification at interview.
